ITA - Ho conosciuto F. aprendo la finestra della mia stanza, a Barcellona.
Viene dal Nicaragua, un paese di cui non so nulla, nemmeno dove si trovi. Mi racconta del regime di Daniel Ortega e della durissima repressione del dissenso; delle proteste, delle uccisioni e dei sequestri ad opera del governo.
Lui e un giocatore professionista di baseball, costretto a fuggire dal paese dopo essere stato incarcerato, in segreto, per aver alzato la bandiera del Nicaragua al termine di una partita.
Lo seguo nella nuova vita che ha costruito, tra appuntamenti burocratici, lavoro e, ovviamente, baseball.

ITA - Mentre sviluppavo il progetto, ne ho progettato e prodotto un fotolibro come tesi del Master in Fotografia e Design Editoriale. Il libro è composto di immagini e testi, nei quali approfondisco la storia di F. e del Nicaragua. Ogni dettaglio del libro, dal peso della carta al ricamo della copertina, è pensato per catturare ed esaltare lo spirito di questa storia.
ENG - While developing the project, I also designed and produced a photo book as my thesis for the Master’s in Photography and Editorial Design. The book is made up of images and texts, in which I explore the story of F. and Nicaragua. Every detail of the book, from the weight of the paper to the embroidery on the cover, is designed to capture and highlight the spirit of this story.
